Complete mitochondrial genomes of Conogethes punctiferalis and C. pinicolalis (Lepidoptera: Crambidae): Genomic comparison and phylogenetic inference in Pyraloidea

•We sequenced complete mitogenomes of Conogethes pinicolalis and C. punctiferalis.•We compared to each other and to 54 available mitogenomes of Pyraloidea.•The two congeneric species showed substantial sequence divergence (mean 5.92%).•Phylogenetic tree provided strong supports for lower groups within Pyraloidea.
