Modelling of electrical interface and cables via AutomationML Modeling methodology and libraries

Electrical interconnections are essential components of any automation system. This paper presents a modeling methodology and first libraries of electrical interfaces for automation devices developed with this methodology in accordance with existing standards for electrical interfaces. These libraries can be understood as digital representations of the associated standards, i.e. they represent the underlying standards as an electronic data model, a solution for the future integration of standards into Industrie 4.0 asset administration shells. The methodology developed is generic, vendor-neutral and can be continued for further electronic interfaces. Interested parties are invited to comment on and supplement the results.
