In the present work we compare oscillation regimes in a gyrotron under the influence of a signal with harmonically, stepwise, and randomly varying frequency and amplitude. At stepwise (regular or random) modulation of the signal parameters threshold values of these modulations, corresponding to the excitation of parasitic modes, are lower than at harmonic modulation.
