Abstract
•The FMA-MBS model of SPMT is constructed based on hierarchical motion analysis method.•The parallel motion system is simplified as a virtual kinematic chain with specific constraints.•Two virtual DOFs are introduced to derive the unified error models of joints.•An error modeling method of SPMT based on meta-action layer error terms is proposed.
