Research on the thermal hydraulic design of COOL blanket for CFETR

•Thermal hydraulic analysis on the supercritical carbon dioxide (sCO2) cOoled lithium-lead (COOL) blanket is performed, including the blanket segment and shield layer.•The blanket can achieve outlet temperature of 600 °C and 700 °C, respectively, in which the temperature of all materials satisfy with the requirements.•The shield layer can be cooled sufficiently only relying on the manifold, without internal cooling system.
