Themes and variations: A response to commentaries on Luck, et al. (2021)

The many commentaries on Luck [Luck, S. J., Gaspelin, N., Folk, C. L., Remington, R. W., & Theeuwes, J. (2020). Progress toward resolving the attentional capture debate. Visual Cognition, 1-21] were thoughtful, insightful and important to future research in this area. In this response, we point out common themes and provide clarification and commentary on issues we find central to our perspective on the attentional capture debate.
