Predicting potential suitable habitat for Ensete glaucum (Roxb.) Cheesman using MaxEnt modelling

•Species distribution modelling was done in Ensete glaucum to find out current potential suitable habitat.•High habitat suitability for E. glaucum was found in the Indo-Burma biodiversity hotspot.•The habitat suitability of E. glaucum is mainly influenced by the bioclimatic variables- precipitation of warmest quarter and temperature annual range.•The modelling results will help future explorations, assessment of genetic diversity, and conservation of E. glaucum.
