摘要
•Drought and salinity stress hampers the plant growth and development thereby affecting crop yield.•Drought and salinity led to overproduction of ROS (reactive oxygen species) that causes oxidative damage in cell.•PGPR (Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria) synthesizes exopolysaccharide (ESP), extracellular polysaccharides (EPS), various osmolytes, alters root morphology, as well as maintaining osmotic balance and ion homeostasis.•PGPR will be used in agricultural fields dramatically to improve plant survival towards environmental changes in achieving sustainable agriculture.
