摘要
•Ruschia imbricata and Ruschia uitenhagensis have physiological seed dormancy.•Primary seed dormancy depth differs between populations of R. imbricata.•Seed harvest time does not affect dormancy depth or breaking in R. imbricata.•Seed dormancy is broken by dry heat, with germination increasing > 50% on average.•Dry heat does not enhance seed permeability to high molecular weight compounds.
