The cooling performance of the micro-solid nitrogen spray technique on the cryopreservation vitrification process: A qualitative study

•A micro-solid nitrogen spray cooling performance was studied and developed.•Particulate nitrogen spray enhanced comprehensive cryogenic heat transfer.•Reached high heat flux enables the vitrification of large samples with a low concentration of cryoprotective agent additives.•Observed an increase in the heat transfer rate, especially in the film boiling regime.
