INVESTIGATION AND ASSESSMENT OF OF LOWER REACHES ENVIRONMENT OF HABA RIVER

To study the water quality status in Haba. River, water samples were collected from four sampling sections (SS.1, SS.2, SS.3, SS.4) in 2021. Some water quality indexes, including pH value, permanganate index, total phosphorus, petroleum, total nitrogen, ammonia nitrogen and heavy metal, were tested. Combining with the factors that affected Haba River such as population density, river discharge and project construction, the correlation between the human activity and runoff volume and the water quality was analyzed. As shown by the test result that the pH value of Haba River ranged from 7.6 to 8,05, rising from SS.1 to SS.3 and dropping at SS.4. The DO value ranged from 3.95 to 7.5 mg/L, the total hardness from 39.6 to 307.9 mmol/L, the alkalinity from 24,5 to 138,1 mmol/L, the content of total phosphorus from 0.001 to 0.017 mg/L (SS.1 > SS.4 > SS.2 > SS.3). the content of TN from 0.457 to 1.840 mg/L (SS.1 > SS.4 > SS.2 > SS.3), the content of ammonia nitrogen from 0.06 to 0.99 mg/L, the content of nitrite nitrogen from 0.006 to 0.007 mg/L, and the content of CODmr, from 0.96 to 3.6 mg/L (SS.1 > SS.2 > SS.3 > SS.4), which was on a declining curve. The sequence for the content of Cu, Pb and Zn from high to low was SS.1, SS.3, SS.2, SS.4, the sequence for the content of Fe from high to low was SS.2. SS.3, SS.1, SS.4, and the sequence for the content of Mn from high to low was SS.1, SS.2, SS.3, SS.4, which was on a declining curve. Besides, both the content of Hg and the content of Cd were below the limit of detection. The result suggested that the indexes, such as total phosphorus, total nitrogen. CODmn, petroleum, volatile phenol and metallic elements, were related to human activity, while other indexes, such as water temperature. transparency and suspended solids, were greatly affected by the change of natural environment.
