β-Lactoglobulin amyloid fibrils supported Fe(III) to activate peroxydisulfate for organic pollutants elimination

•Fe(III) was loaded on the β-Lactoglobulin amyloid fibrils (Fe(III)@β-LGAF).•Fe(III)@β-LGAF could activate peroxydisulfate (PDS) to eliminate organics.•1O2 was the dominant reactive species in the Fe(III)@β-LGAF/PDS process.•The β-LGAF could accelerate the Fe(III)/Fe(II) cycle.
