Seismic behavior of light weight CFST frame-fabricated single row reinforced shear wall structures

The influence of four different types of assembly beam-column joints and steel tubes with or without recycled concrete on the seismic performance of fabricated light weight concrete-filled steel tube (CFST) frames were investigated in the first part of this paper. The results showed that the CFST frame with a double-L-stiffened connection joint showed high strength and good seismic behavior. The bearing capacity of the frame was given by the simple plastic analysis method, and the calculation error compared to the test result was less than 10%. As the main focus of this paper, the light weight CFST frame-fabricated single row reinforced shear wall structures were proposed in the second part of this paper on the preliminary study of the light weight CFST frame. Four specimens with different wall thicknesses and different reinforcement spacing were tested under low-reversed cyclic loading. The experimental results indicated that the proposed fabricated method ensured that the wall cooperated well with the CF ST frame, and the structure had two obvious seismic fortification lines. The fabricated shear wall was the first seismic fortification line subjected to shear failure, and the CFST frame was the second seismic fortification line subjected to flexural failure. The assembly of the shear wall substantially improved the structural strength of the single CFST frame, while the CFST frame improved the structural seismic collapse resistance. The superposition calculation of the bearing capacity of the CFST frame and fabricated shear wall was used to estimate the bearing capacity of the light weight CFST frame-fabricated single row reinforced shear wall structure. The calculation results showed good agreement with the experimental results.
