Analysis of the T&T Industry Competitiveness Index for Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru for the Period 2007-2019

Currently, the tourism sector has become the center of economic activity of countries and regions, within the framework of globalization. It is in permanent transformation, according to the changing expectations of travelers and tourists. In this sense, the analysis of the index of tourist competitiveness of Colombia, Ecuador and Peru is made. The results of the WTTR from 2007 to 2019 are used for the analysis, although the calculation methodology has changed over time. Finally, the gaps and approximations of the scores obtained from these three (3) countries were estimated, with the world and regional maximums of Latin America, which can be taken into consideration for necessary investment in this sector.
