Integration of DPMUs with the Distribution Network at Portion Nodes for Voltage Control

There is no doubt that the electrical power system is the main driver of the world economy, which faces a lot of challenges with the extension and the increasing in the critical loads. The compensation of the voltage drops, sag and low power factor is the main required and important points to save the system in quality and stable region. Distribution Phasor Measurement Units (DPMUs) are the measuring devices to be installed with the distribution power network nodes for voltage control. In this paper, a proposed algorithm method to use the DPMUs data at a portion of network nodes to control the compensation devices for improving the voltage value during faults or abnormal system conditions. The proposed analysis steps in this paper are depending on the simplification power system at the unknown impedance and power information with known equivalent parameters. The simulation sample in this paper has been validated with the IEEE 33-busbar system related to the new algorithm method to utilize the DPMUs devices for improving the voltage system after disturbances in the distribution network.
