Mn(II) and Zn(II) Complexes Constructed by Bis(4-(1H-Imidazol-1-yl)phenyl)methanone and Salicylate: Syntheses and Crystal Structures

Two complexes with V -shaped ligands, [( L 1 ) 2 Mn(H 2 O) 4 ](HSA) 2 ] ( 1 ), [( L 1 ) 2 Zn(H 2 O) 2 ](HSA) 2 n ( 2 ) ( L 1 = bis(4-(1 H -imidazol-1-yl)phenyl)methanone, H 2 SA = salicylic acid), have been synthesized under solvothermal conditions. The complexes have been characterized by infrared spectroscopy, elemental analysis, and single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. Crystals of 1 and 2 are both triclinic with space group P 1 . In 1 , adjacent molecules [( L 1 ) 2 Mn(H 2 O) 4 ](HSA) 2 ] are linked by weak interactions to form a 3D network. In 2 , Zn 2+ ions are linked to each other through the L 1 ligands to form 1D infinite chains, which are linked by weak interactions to form a 3D network.
