Heterostyly, incompatibility system and pollinators in Varronia spinescens Borhidi (L.) (Cordiaceae)

•We describe distyly in Varroniaspinescens.•There is high degree of reciprocity between the sexual organs and presents a non isoplethic morph ratio.•The incompatibility system is heteromorphic.•Studied population functions as an important energetic resource for 93 visitors.
