Ultrathin 2D/2D Graphdiyne/Bi2WO6 Heterojunction for Gas-Phase CO2 Photoreduction

Loading appropriate cocatalysts is a facile and effective method of improving photocatalytic activity. Herein, by in situ growth of Bi2WO6 nanosheets (NSs) on the surface of graphdiyne (GDY) NSs, an ultrathin 2D/2D GDY/Bi2WO6 heterojunction was crafted and shows the enhanced photoreduction CO2 activity under simulated sunlight irradiation. The total CO2 conversion over the optimal sample (BiGDY-3) is 4.9 times that of Bi2WO6, which is ascribed to enhanced light absorption, conductivity, and a large interfacial contact area, assuring the improved separation rate of photoinduced charges. Simultaneously, the increased specific surface area and micropores render the hybrids with enhanced CO2 adsorption.
