摘要

•Different levels of damage in sheet metal under uniaxial stress have been assessed.•Computer simulation agrees with experimental results, well interpreting plastic strain.•Low-field magnetic analysis (LFMA) was employed for the detection and evolution of mechanical ductile damage.•Experimental results show that the proposed LFMA is very effective.
