摘要
Reconstructive surgery of large maxilla defects region has always represented a challenge for the surgical team. Thanks to the increasingly widespread use of revascularized free flaps, it is now possible to guarantee to the patient a paraphysiological functionality and an aesthetic widely accepted by himself. In this article, we report a case of right maxillary sinus/nasal cavity neoplasm with the histological diagnosis of Myoepithelial carcinoma/ex-pleomorphic adenoma in a 64-year-old patient subjected to a wide maxillectomy and a complex secondary reconstruction with a fibula free flap. This case report describes the extensive reconstructive possibilities in cancer patients offered by microvascular surgery; assisted today by the most modern virtual presurgical planning and the use of stereolithographic models for rapid prototyping and preplating.
