摘要

•Catechol group in dobutamine is oxidized by HRP much faster than in dopamine.•Methylation of phenol group decreased the rate of oxidation of catechol group.•Phenol group acts as electron-transfer mediator in oxidation of catechol group.•Faster oxidation of phenol group results from its deeper location in the active site.
