摘要
•This is the first report on the evaluation of the antimicrobial and insecticidal potential of the crude extracts of the different aerial parts (mature leaves, flowers, pulp and seeds) of Cassia abbreviata.•Preliminary phytochemical screening revealed the presence of different bioactive groups of compounds in the different extracts.•Elucidation of the major bioactive compounds in the most promising extracts was carried out by GC-MS (Gas chromatography- mass spectrometry).•Hexadecanoic acid, 2‑hydroxy-1-(hydroxymethyl)ethyl ester, Phenol,2,4-bis(1,1-dimethylethyl), Octadecanoic acid, 2‑hydroxy-1-(hydroxymethyl)ethyl ester, Nonacosane, l-Proline, N-(3-trifluoro methyl benzoyl)-, nonyl ester, Nonadecane, Silikonfett se30 (grevels), Heneicosane, (E)−7-Methoxy-6-(3′-methylbuta-1′,3′-dienyl) coumarins, Silane, cyclohexyl dimethoxy methyl, 1,2-Benzenedicarboxylic acid, bis(2-ethylhexyl) ester, 2,6,10,14,18,22-Tetracosahexaene, 2,6,10,15,19,23-hexamethyl-(all-E), Lup-20(29)-en-3-one and .gamma.-Tocopherol were detected for the first time in C. abbreviata.
