Biotin-tagged cis-dichlorido-oxidovanadium(IV) complex for DNA crosslinking and photo-induced apoptotic cytotoxicity

Cis-dichlorido-oxidovanadium(IV) complex having biotin-appended dipicolylamine showed remarkable DNA crosslinking-mediated apoptotic cytotoxicity on irradiation with visible light. The complex did not generate any reactive oxygen species (ROS) in dark or on light activation. It mimics the DNA crosslinking property of platinum-based chemotherapeutic agents.
