Magnetocaloric effect in the Potts model based on the effective-field theory

摘要
•The magnetocaloric effect (MCE) is investigated for the q-state Potts model in an external magnetic field.•First-order and continuous phase transitions are obtained by the effective field theory (EFT).•Maxwell relations and the Clausius-Clapeyron equation were used to study the behavior of the thermodynamic quantities.•The MCE was studied in terms of the isothermal entropy change as a function of temperature.
