Communities of Collembola show functional resilience in a long-term field experiment simulating climate change

•In an 8-year field experiment we increased temperature, atmospheric CO2 and drought duration.•Collembolan communities were sampled under different climatic treatments and controls.•Their short-term, mid-term and long-term functional responses were scrutinised.•Only minor effects of climate change on collembolan traits were observed.•Collembola appear functionally resilient to climate change of moderate intensity.
