Functionalized nanographene oxide/PEG/rhodamine B/gold nanocomposite for electrochemical determination of glucose

•A platform combining dye and polymer functioned nanographene oxide is designed and fabricated.•Nanocomposites which can maintain the inherent property of gold nanoparticles and keep well dispersity in aqueous media are handy prepared.•These nanocomposites provide wider application potential in biosensing of glucose or other biomolecules.
