Numerical modeling of gas extraction from coal seam combined with a dual-porosity model: Finite difference solution and multi-factor analysis

•Dual-porosity model combining free gas density gradient (FGDG) diffusion insight was developed.•Predicted result based on self-developed numerical simulator were consistent with field data.•A multi-factor sensitivity analysis affecting the gas flow rate from borehole was conducted.
