摘要

•The study explores catalytic oxidation of 1,3-butadiene at low temperatures over Nb2O5/CeO2.•As evident from DFT calculations and catalytic runs, Nb promotes catalytic performance of CeO2.•The catalyst prepared with 10 wt.% of Nb has the best catalytic performance.•A 95% of selectivity toward CO2 is reported between 300 – 400 °C.
