Regulation of hydrophilic performance for chlorinated polyethylene grafting acrylic acid via co-irradiation

•Acrylic acid was grafted onto chlorinated polyethylene by co-radiation method.•The reaction is completed in one step by radiation method, simple and fast.•The surface transformed from hydrophobic to hydrophilic after grafting.•This would give new properties and provide better compatibility with matrix.
