摘要

•A CNN acoustic signal-based model was proposed for smart sorting of pistachio nuts.•The superiority of the method was supported by automatic feature extraction.•The model achieved up to 98 % accuracy for detection of open and closed-shell nuts.•CNN model provided more accurate results than traditional approaches.
