Plug-and-play algorithms for single-pixel imaging

•Propose a new single-pixel imaging algorithm, namely PnP-based SPI reconstruction algorithm.•Adopting pre-trained denoising neural network as deep denoiser priors to overcome the limitation of model-based single-pixel imaging algorithms.•Exhibit better generality than learning-based single-pixel imaging methods.•Realizing higher quality and noise robust single-pixel imaging reconstruction than existing single-pixel imaging methods.•Extensive simulations and experiments confirm the superiority of the proposed algorithm.
