摘要
•Effects of SHS coating on the dynamic icing process over bridge cables were evaluated.•3D shapes of the ice structures accreted on the bridge cables were measured quantitatively.•Aerodynamic drags acting on the bridge cables during the icing process were examined.•SHS coating was found to be very effective to mitigate glaze ice accretion on bridge cables.•SHS coating was found to be less effective to suppress rime ice accretion on bridge cables.
