•PLGA NPs appear round to ovoid regular structures.•2.5 wt.% NSPs-loaded PLGA NPs-modified adhesive showed the greatest relative viability of HGFs.•The least mean SBS scores were exhibited by 5 wt.% NSPs-loaded PLGA NPs-modified adhesive specimens.
