Positioning precision analysis of passive phased array radar localization for construction safety monitoring in a non-line-of-sight environment via heatmap

•Passive Phased Array Radar - Bluetooth Hybrid Positioning System (PPAR-B HPS) was used and a large amount of experiment data was collected under complex construction site.•Field test and measurement for the positioning precision in the non-line-of-sight environment (NLOS) was carried out.•The factors affecting the positioning precision in NLOS environment were analyzed via precision heatmap.•The performance of the hybrid positioning system in petrochemical construction projects for unsafe behavior monitoring was analyzed.
