How psychosocial stress profile influences the subsequent occurrence of neuropsychiatric comorbidities: A longitudinal population-based cohort study

•This study first examined the cumulative effect of multiple stressors in subsequent neuropsychiatric comorbidities.•This study used both variable-centered and person-centered approaches to analyze multiple stressors.•Higher cumulative stress increased the risk of neuropsychiatric comorbidities.•Social support could modify the negative impact of multiple stressors on neuropsychiatric comorbidities.
