摘要
The K+-dependent Na+/Ca2+-exchanger (NCKX) family comprises five proteins (NCKX1-5) that play an important role in modulating Ca2+ efflux and in maintaining cellular Ca2+ homeostasis. NCKX4 has been shown to play a critical role in multiple physiological processes such as visual and olfactory signal termination and adaptation, tooth enamel formation, melanocortin-dependent satiety signalling, as well as age related cognitive function. However, how NCKX4 is regulated is an important but understudied question.
