Living kidney donation is considered as the best treatment option for people suffering from end stage renal disease.1The global prevalence of end stage renal disease is quite high and growing rapidly due to improved diagnostic abilities, increase in incidence of type 2 diabetes and several other causes of chronic renal disease. 2 The Transplantation of Human Organ Act (THOA) and rules in India were proclaimed in 1994 and eventually revised in 2008 and 2011 to enhance living kidney donation still there lies a huge void in living kidney donation in INDIA.
