摘要
Introduction: Hemorrhoids occur commonly during pregnancy and puerperium. They are associated with constipation. No studies have evaluated the prevention of constipation with the reduction of the risk of hemorrhoids. Aim: To evaluate the effect of dietary and behaviour intervention for prevention of hemorrhoids during pregnancy and puerperium. Methods: Women who consented to participate in the study were randomly assigned during the first trimester of pregnancy to dietary and behaviour intervention (intervention group - IG) or to routine perinatal care (control group - CG).
