摘要
Background: Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC) is a rare but aggressive skin cancer with a high risk of recurrence and poor prognosis. Treatment should be carried out in specialized centers in experienced multidisciplinary teams. The basis of treatment of locally advanced MCC (laMCC) is surgery (SUR). In cases without clinical lymph node (LN) involvement, the sentinel lymph node biopsy (SLNB) is recommended. Radiotherapy (RTH) may be an alternative to SUR in some pts and may be considered in the perioperative setting.
