摘要
•This study integrates multiple downscaling simulations with in-situ monitoring to assess riverbed scouring.•This study found that the most severe riverbed scouring occurs at flow peak, and down-scouring continues during the recessions.•During the recession period, the lessening of the flow velocity generated a more substantial down-erosive kinetic energy as the high velocity exceeded the critical shear stress on the bottom of the riverbed.
