摘要

•Two improved multiline HVDC circuit breakers are proposed.•Bidirectional current flow is achieved by a unidirectional main breaker in the DCBs.•Compared with other DCBs, the proposed two DCBs use less power devices.•The DCBs have high operation reliability due to small individual switching actions.
