Genistein suppresses gallbladder cancer tumorigenesis and progression via downregulating ERBB2 mediated PTK6/AKT/MCM pathway

Gallbladder cancer(GBC)is the most prevalent cancer type in the biliary tract.Unfortunately,around 80％of patients with GBC are diagnosed at advanced stages with limited options to stop the progression and dissemination of this lethal malignancy.The overall 5-year survival rate is only 18％;for those with distant metastases,the 5-year survival rate drops to single digit(2％),high-lighting an unmet need for these patients[1].Early diagnosis of GBC is key to extending overall survival when radical surgery is still possible.
