摘要

•The conversion of Compressed Sward Height (CSH) to herbage mass was assessed.•Three equations for predicting herbage mass from CSH were developed.•Two dynamic equations accounted for grass type (GT) and month of growing season.•These equations are within an accepted variable range; RMSE ∼ 250 kg DM ha−1.•The most practical equation used GT, month and both linear and quadratic CSH.
