Determination of vascular involvement and resectability in locally advanced and (borderline) resectable pancreatic cancer using intra-operative ultrasound – A prospective multicenter study

Background: Determining the resectability of pancreatic cancer on preoperative imaging remains difficult, especially following induction chemotherapy and chemoradiotherapy. Retrospective studies have suggested that intraoperative ultrasound (IOUS) may improve the determination of resectability and vascular involvement in patients with pancreatic cancer following induction therapy. Prospective multicenter studies are lacking.
