Investigation of dolomite’ rock brittle fracture using fully calibrated Karagozian Case Concrete model

•Fracture parameters of dolomite are determined with Brazilian test and semicircular bending test•An improved calibration procedure of KCC model for brittle materials is proposed•Calibrated KCC parameters were validated in two static and one dynamic tests•Wide parametric study with detailed description of limitation of KCC model was performed•New calibration strategy improved the tensile crack reproduction in quasi-brittle materials
