摘要
Inguinal hernia repair and orchiopexy are two of the most common procedures performed by pediatric urologists. The goal of this video is to highlight the anatomy and key steps in performing inguinal hernia repair and inguinal orchiopexy in the pediatric patient and demonstrate how these procedures are performed in our practice. The key steps of both inguinal hernia repair and orchiopexy are illustrated along with the relevant anatomy to both procedures. Some common variations in technique are also described as well as helpful tips and tricks in performing these cases successfully. Inguinal hernia repair and orchiopexy are both commonly performed outpatient procedures in pediatric urology. Each surgeon has individual preferences with regards to performing these cases but the key steps and anatomy encountered as demonstrated in this video remain the same. There are many variations in technique when performing inguinal hernia repair and orchiopexy based on surgeon preference, but we believe this video provides an excellent foundation for trainees to understand these common pediatric urologic procedures.
