Mid- and long-term outcomes of totally laparoscopic gastrectomy for gastric cancer

Background: Gastric cancer (GC) is the fifth most common cancer in the world. Despite the prognosis improvement due to progress in diagnostic and treatment modalities, GC remains the third cause of cancer-related deaths worldwide. The laparoscopic approach for GC is being increasingly implemented by digestive surgeons. Although recent evidence suggests that laparoscopic approach is associated with improvements in short-term outcomes, mid- and long-term outcomes have not been well studied. This study aimed to assess the mid- and long-term outcomes of laparoscopic gastrectomy (LG) for all stages of GC.
