Thermal flow analysis of self-driven temperature-sensitive magnetic fluid between partially heated parallel plates

•TSMF is accelerated near the heating wall when the magnetic field is applied.•In the case of high Prandtl number, vortexes are created in the center of the heating field.•The formation of vortexes influences the heat transfer.•Increased distance between flat plates influence heat transfer substantially.
