摘要
•Stamping cut edge damaged was characterised with EBSD kernel misorientation maps and nano hardness.•A novel method has been created to evaluate the strain level of stamped cut edge.•The magnetic properties of the electrical steel were measured before and after the application of plastic strain, elastic stress and elastic–plastic effect using a single sheet tester and the corresponding anhysteretic BH curve determined.•A FEA model for the single sheet tester was built to model the effect of cut edge damage on magnetic performance considering both plastic and elastic stress using measured BH data.
