Overlapping effect in dense all-optical, point-by-point recording of holographic patterns in the ferrimagnetic alloy

•Overlapping effect toggling the magnetic domain states is observed in all-optical point-by-point writing of patterns.•The influence of the overlapping amount on the quality of holographic reconstructions is examined.•The optimal amount of overlapping is derived providing the globally best holographic projections, in high agreement with the numerical model.
